Going home

In my book "The Call for Divine Mothering", I wrote: "Home is where the heart is, where is my heart?" as a foundation for healing. To "come home" thus, has to do with love and security, but not a specific place. If you think about it, most abuse happens at home, where we normally live.

My "coming home" refers to my inner child returning. It showed itself first time in Hawaii in 2004, after my mother had died. But, it would take until 2015 that I would recall a feeling, I hadn't had for several decades. This deepened with a greater awareness and connection to her in Portugal in 2019. I specifically chose Portugal, since we have been there when I was a toddler and it was a happy memory and vacation. To return to the site of this real joy, enabled me to reconnect with it.

Practices that I have used, include a Hawaiian forgiveness process, prayer and massage therapy. These, however, opened me up for healing, while the integration takes place after, when I once again did what I used to growing up, feeling happy. To me, that is taking dance classes and performing on stage. To you it might be something else.

All in all, just like it is with love, it's in the approach and how we do things, that is the real path.
