The Deceit in Art

Updated: Aug 10, 2021

Who doesn't want to be a true artist? Having it all on exhibit and be debated? But only a fool!

Art is our way of dealing with our anxiety, either about ourselves, or about society. While it can be used to discuss sensitive topics, for example on stage or on the screen in stories, one should not forget it's still a replica of life and thus not solving any real issues, since we then talk about the replica. If we all could simply talk about things with mutual respect and lesser egos, lesser need to be right and more willingness to hear oneanother, the real issues would be solved. An exception at first glance, could be our will to beautify our surroundings, to bring scenes of nature indoors and uphold divinity depicted. But God doesn't live in a sculpture! Art shouldn't be necessary at all!

"Art is not necessary at all. All that is necessary to make this world a better place to live in is to love - to love as Christ loved, as Buddha loved." (Isadora Duncan)
