Not taking things for granted

Yesterday, when I was walking through the forest on my normal route, I scented the deers further in but saw none at first. I shrugged it off, thinking I can't be so lucky every time.
Then suddenly, as I approached a large green meadow, I saw a woman and her dog had stopped on the trail looking at one. It started walking away. When I was walking towards to the same spot, I looked for it, but didn't see it.
I felt a little disappointed. Had the little deer walked away from me? Wasn't I going to see any more of it? I told myself, wild animals are a rare treat to come up close, so it might just be so. I looked one more time.

And there it was! Laying down inbetween the trees. What a treasure! Instead of walking away from me, it showed that it trusted me even more, by remain laying.
It's when we don't take things for granted, we receive more.
