When I set out to explore and develop myself as a woman after my mother had passed away in 2004, I thought I could name certain virtues feminine and others masculine.
It struck me in my own quest for love, that since humans always disappoint one another, or in other ways assume certain conditions must be fulfilled, the only way to truly feel loved, is by God, that I first found in nature and horses growing up. And in cuddly bunnies!
The other day, when I read 2 Cor 1:3-4 in the Bible, it said "Father of compassion". Father, not Mother. Is it then a masculine trait? I see it like a way to practice a selfless love, the same love we can bestow our children.
Nowadays, I understand that the love I try to define in my book, is a mirrored reflection of God's love, which I think we all should strive for, to forward.
What is love to you?
