Whenever I miss Hawaii, I like to listen both to Hawaiian music of course, but also to the sounds of the ocean. There is something very soothing and relaxing, listening to the waves crushing the shore. Listening to this sound makes a great companion to your meditation practice. It's also how I like to begin my Hula practices to feel in tune.
Simply stand with your feet hip wide apart, or sit down, while you let the sound of waves be heard in the background. Now, start to breathe in the same rhythm as the oceanwaves. Inhale with the build up and exhale to release as the wave rolls in. After a while, you might even feel one with the ocean!
