Giving meaning

The other day when I came home, I found the most tiny little black feather on my balcony. It must have been from one of the common swifts that fly by my windows every day during summer. I thought of them as swallows but thanks to this little feather, I looked them up and found that they're called Common Swifts, and actually are an endangered species here in Sweden. The feather is just an inch or a couple of centimeters.

As always, it intrigues me to see if there's any mythological meaning attached to encounters in nature. When it comes to common swifts, there has been both intepretations of them being messengers of evil and messengers of good, depending on culture. My own view and meaning that I give them, is that they come when summer arrives and they cheer me up with their high pitch sounds flying by really fast and clearing up bad energies. It's even a bit like they're keeping me company; flying by my kitchen window when I sit there, and by my living room window when I sit there. They are welcome.
