I have always loved doing interviews. It began as part of my interest in becoming a journalist (I later became a copywriter.). I started early to use my new found capability for others' benefit. Back in the day, when the organization ASSE took on exchange students for a High School year, you become interviewed by a former student, who has real experience to compare with. I too was, and I was also one of them who conducted interviews when I had returned from my stay. Most students become approved. If you have the will and the means, you should go! However, there was also one or two each time, that didn't. Most often, it was a projected desire from a well meaning, but pressuring, parent, who we then had to do a little intervention with. It was to ensure a good match of your true will, with your goal.

Later, doing coaching sessions became an extended version of doing interviews, which is why it works so well. I also took extra night classes at Malmö University in conversation technique, where we recorded sessions with real clients and became evaluated on. So, if you're thinking about whether coaching is for you or not, whether to become one, or to be coached yourself, think of it as interviewing!
