Reclaiming my voice, literally speaking

This past month, I've been working with a freelance assignment for an American business doing market research by phone in Sweden. I simply answered an ad on Instagram about making a study and was called a couple of days later. While as so often, the pre-set commission and salary was a little unrealistic, I gave it a go and got paid. Not only was the money very welcome after a rough winter with no social security to rely on, but it also gave me a blessing in disguise.

I've worked by phone twice before, once as a sales person in my early 20's, selling registry in fax catalogues, and once as an extra for a market research company doing interviews mostly by foot., both in Sweden. Now, it became my third time. And while making these calls, my old skills resurfaced and I realized how much I do have a so called phone voice: Personal, but not private, assertive but not emotional, strong and selling but not pushy.
While following the script, I tried a couple of variations, to see which words would gather a more positive reply rate, and if I tweaked how I was talking, raising my melody at the end would most often get a positive reply. This made me realise how this enabled me to get back my own power in my voice more, that I lost due to various traumas for some years and not always been able to get back, due to conflicts and threats that all have had a negative effect on me. Now I can!
The next step is to see if I can use this type of voice in my speaking and in my videos. I have to practice this some more and thus making a podcast enables me a good foundation for practising. My podcast is based on celebrations of days we do internationally, and some made up by me, and their symbolism to be used as tools for personal growth through life coaching.
