My experience of acting started early. I attended a drama class after school, as well as classes in classical ballet, already when I was 9 years old, continuing as we moved elsewhere. We were allowed to take time off from our regular curriculum, and invited all schools in town to come and watch our plays. Both classical fairy-tales, and newly written musicals, became our storytelling on stage.

In my late teens, I focused more on dancing and started to ponder about who I really was. I searched for an identity, not dependant on my relationships. How I was among certain peers, and not among others, opened my eyes to societal conditioning, that I didn't want to be part of. I didn't want to always be how others expected me.

What I didn't know though, was how much being on stage was helping my mental health. All acting, dancing and singing, enabled me to express emotions fully. in a much broader range, safe and fun, releasing all, than what I could at home or at work. I shouldn't have stopped dancing in my mid-20's, but did, in favor of my new career as a copywriter and because of being assaulted. Thus, I shrunk.

Ten years later, after my mother had become terminally ill, I went back to dancing and was soon part of both performing that and doing small extras. I also found a sense of identity through my faith, and the rest is history (or at least can be found in my books).

Who are you among your colleagues, your own friends and with your spouse? Do you like who you are? Do you need to change yourself, or your company? This might require therapy, but I welcome you to explore it with me as your coach too.
