Daring to trust in abundance

Writer's picture: Hannah TelluselleHannah Telluselle

Every time on my walk to the forest, I pass by a little cottage, where there is an apple tree bearing lots of big, red, shiny apples. And every time, I wish I could reach over the fence to grab one. I decided to ask the owner, if I would be so lucky to see them outside. A couple of days ago, I did.

The old man, showed me through the gate. When I asked if I could get an apple, he offered me to fill a bag, that he went inside to fetch. He shared that he wasn't that fond of apples, but that the former owner even had the tree cut and reshaped, so that it now bears fruit of three different kinds, by the same tree. I filled the bag with gratitude, and promised to not tell anyone, where I got them. At home, I thought of how often I have received more than I have asked for. And in that lies two lessons: To learn to ask for more, since we often need more than we think, especially when it comes to money. And, it's through humility, we do receive.

I decided to make apple crumble pie today, the way my mother used to. And in that way, I also honor her.

Having lots of fresh fruit, always makes me feel rich.
