Dealing with distractions

Have you ever attempted to sit down and write something, or read something, but felt both scattered and stressed because of other things you'd like to tend to or need to remember? To ensure a better performance with more focus and presence, and feeling more inspired, a way is to deal with your distractions first. Some people may think that we should just concentrate harder and do the other things later, but I have found it works much better if we do what feels pressing first, whether that is to tidy up, to buy groceries, to check your emails, to read the news, to eat or do dishes. Whatever it is, do it first, instead of pushing yourself more!

This way, you make space for yourself to perform better with a naturally more focused and positive mindset. So, while others might think and even expect their tasks to be on top of the list, they might be, but still handled later. But, with a better result! A relaxed mind is thereto, a more creative mind.

I think of dealing with distractions as a time to prepare myself. When we feel prepared, we feel more empowered to take on our challenges.
